PAL to NTSC problem
Well….I have this PAL to NTSC problem…I exported the video from my PAL HD timeline into self-contained movie NTSC HD. It went without problem. Now I am trying to record my movie on tape but after first 4 or 5 min. the video freezes into the camera for a second, also the time code stops. Blue screen appears into the camera and after awhile it is trying to start running again but with the same “play-stop-freeze” effect. The strange thing for me is that at the same time FCP is still playing my movie without problem. I’ve tried it again and the camera started to lose my video signal at exactly the same time. Do you know what I am doing wrong? My project, my movie, my settings are all the same.

I do not understand this. If you are editing PAL and your sequence is PAL, then you must export PAL and them convert to NTSC. Once you have your film in NTSC you can print it to video in NTSC.

Sorry for my bad english…Yes, I converted my PAL sequence to NTSC, but
I couldn’t print it to video because after the first 5 min. of recording, the camecorder seems to loose the video signal from the comp. or something. The FCP is still plaing the NTSC video without problem but at the same time the video into the camcorder freezes, stops, goes through blue screen as no signal is coming in…But the first 5 min. of recording are just fine. I am wondering what I’m doing wrong. Could the problem be the firewire?

Don’t worry about your English. mine is worst.
So you can record few minutes in the tape without problem, isn’t it?
Then just try to record manually instead of use the “Print to video” function. Put a bit of black before your sequence, set the camara to record and play your time-line.
