  Capture pause video with clean audio

  I have FCP 3 on G4 FW800 with two drives on internal ATA-133 controller and one drive on ATA-66 controller. During capture of Mini-DV through 1394 the video freezes for two seconds and the audio continues without any interruption. This occures about every 30 seconds and obviously effects the sync of the clip. I have deleted the prefs and also removed and reinstalled with the same effects. Any ideas?

  Could be the tape, the camera/deck, the cable , firewire bus on the computer, the drives that it is going to.

  Do some more trouble shooting starting with the tape, camera/deck, and cable.
