    Hello,

I manage a community tv studio and am using an 17″ imac with multiple users accounts and until today I have been able to work on fcp projects with no problem at all (for the past three years).

But for some reason when i click on any one of my many project files or when I click on fcp app icon… it tries to open and then just closes… never makes it to showing the viewer/browser, etc windows…

so, I logged onto a different user’s account to see if I could open up fcp there and ..presto, no problem whatsoever.

I ran disk utility thinking permissions were off…but still no good. any hints?

    thanks

    Regards,

Trash the FCP preferences for your user. I’ll bet this fixes the problem.

This is a big problem with OS X apps, when something like a preference file is corrupted or sometimes when you move an app from one computer to another, the Application when launched will bounce once and then close.

oh yeah…I remember doing that with my old premiere projects back in 1998 (or something like that)…but I haven’t had to do that with FCP ever before. thanks for the reminder
