Printing out FCP Bins
Short of doing a Print screen, is there a way to print out the contents of a bin so the producer can refer to the clips that are available?

You can export them as a batch list and use another application.

You might also consider using the Screen Capture Utility in OS X. If you have a lot of items in the bin you would have to scroll and make consecutive captures. Not the most elegant solution, but better than Print Screen because you can select just the bin.

Probably for now exporting as a batch list and then opening with Excel is the best way to go.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the digital heaven solution is for printing timelines and not bins.
I know they are considering adding this feature but will probably wait to see what happens at NAB. -

Yeah, I am not exactly sure, but you can lay all of your clips from a bin, add markers and notes and print that. Not exactly what’s needed here, but a way to do it none the less.
Perhaps it does do bins, there’s a demo to download and try. If you look closely at the image it appears to have ‘bins’ (ie folders) and bins can be exported as XML as well.

There is logging software that will take an xml file of the bins. They could even watch small preview movies of the clips on a computer, or you can print out the resulting catalog that will mirror the project bins you’ve exported. Clips can have thumbnail frames on the hard copy too.

Highlight bin. Export as Batch List. Open in Excel, adjust and print.
