I’m using Final Cut 5.0.3. I had been working for the past couple of hours on some Final Cut projects when Final Cut crashed. I had multiple projects open at the time. I hadn’t been saving manually – I know I should have been, but it just slipped my mind. So I went to the autosave vault, but the most recent save for the project that I’d done all my work in was from three hours ago, despite the fact that autosave is set to save every 20 minutes.

Any thoughts? Maybe something to do with my having multiple projects open?

    One more thing –

I just checked and for all the projects that I had open, they seemed to all have an autosave at 11:24 (approx. 3 hrs. before the crash) and nothing since. And I hadn’t been using Log and Capture at all.

I’ve noticed this behavior as well. Not necessarily the crashing but the no auto saving part. The only thing that I’ve found to happen consistently when this occurs is that I’ve been working hard-core non-stop editing. Its almost as if I hadn’t been giving FCP enough time to think to auto-save. This doesn’t really help, but at least you know someone else who’s had it happen to them!?!
