  Playback issues

  Hello,

  I am a long time avid editor but new to FCP. I am having a problem with playback on the canvas. When I playback my timeline I can see it on an external NTSC monitor but when I stop playback, the ntsc monitor goes black. When I set up for digital desktop preview and get my sequence to play on my computer monitor, same thing happens. I went over the settings with the fcp in the next edit bay; everything is set up the same but they dont have that problem.

  I can load up the viewer on the ntsc monitor and it stays there when I stop it, but will not do the same for the canvas. Same goes when it’s in the desktop preview mode.

  I have not been able to find anything in the previous posts. Short of having to match frame everytime I stop playback so I will get my last frame frozen on the NTSC monitor I cant find a way out.

  Here is the set-up G5 dual/AJA Io LA input output/FCP 5.1.3/ 3GB ram
