  Sporatic audio track levels

  This has now occured on me twice, so I’m getting concerned. It seems that when I start having several audio tracks overlap each other (in the area of 6-10 tracks), and they have lots of transitions (cross dissolves) and key framed level changes, when I play back (and even when I export!), some of the tracks just jump around to all different kinds of levels…..for instance, when a song track should be fading out, it will start fading out, then jump to full volume for 2 seconds, then keep fading out, etc.
  I’m running on a Mac Pro dual 2ghz with 4gb of Ram, if that matters.
  Are there any FCP settings that I need to change? Or reconnect media? OR WHAT?!
