dropped frames
I am trying to print to video and had to turn off the dropped frames warning but still there is a bit of audio dropout. I have nested the sequences and am trying to export the audio as AIFF but even when i export the audio, there is still some dropout at one particular part which unfortunately is 45 minutes into the movie. This happened to me before with a different computer i was using and with a different movie. It is so annoying. I am now thinking of exporting the whole thing as DV or quicktime and reimporting it. Any suggestions of the best method. I have a festival deadline and have to turn the dvcam into beta. Am a bit annoyed. Not totally crazed yet.

I suspect from the line above that you are noyt understanding part of the dropped frames equasion. While dropped frames at capture are an annoyance that typically mean you’ll just cut at a slightly different in or out point, dropped frames on print to tape mean lost frames and lost visual and audio information in the middle of otherwise good takes that are not being printed to tape.
Clearly, your drives are not delivering the necessary throughput required to print to tape and you will not be able to create a satisfactory output to tape unless you recitify the problem. Turning off the dropped frames warning will do nothing other than give you a possible feeling of false security.
