    I need to create digital steam to censor a shower scene without using th obvious black bars or mosiac blur. What the easiest way to create some fake steam puffs almost like clouds rising up?

    You might want to try a particle system to create the steam in AE like Trapcode Particular.

    Hmm. I’d have to see the footage first… yes…

    There are some “steam-like” setting in Trapcode’s Particular.

    He’s got some easy to use particle-smoke effects that don’t use particles.

    The particle systems that come with AE are fully capable of creating all the steam, smoke, fog and water misty stuff you could ever want. Particular is ultr-cool but you don’t need Trapcode unless you know you need it.
