  upconvert through HVR-1500?

  Having bought the Kona LHe instead of the Kona 3, I have been looking for ways to upconvert SD to HD.

  I understand that Sony will be offering the HVBK-1505 add-on board for the HVR-1500 deck, which will allow upconversion to an HD-SDI output. Is this a viable option or will the footage that gets upconverted have all the limitations of HDV?
