  XML makes independent clips?

  Hello FCP Creatives!

  Here’s a quick rundown of my workflow:

  1) Editor has sequence I need to work on. XML is exported from Editor’s computer.
  2) XML opened up on different computer.
  3) Files are imported into project on computer #2, and those files are added to the sequence
  4) Another XML is exported.
  5) XML re-opened on Editor’s computer.

  What i’m finding is that the new XML sequence’s clips don’t link back (match frame) to the original master clips in the editor’s browser. Instead, they’re independent, or linking to XML imported clips (depending on XML options).

  Is it even possible to make it link back to the original master clips?
