    Hi

I am intending to use the Sony z1 in conjuction with FCP. I’m wondered if anyone could give me an overall pros and cons list of FCP before I invest. Also if their are any issues with using the Z1 with FCP.

I am intending to get a MacBook Pro 2.33 intel core duo, 3gig ram.

Any help would be much appreciated (I’m making the move from Media 100)

    Thanks in advance

    Martin

nice combination. also consider getting a Matrox MXO which will give you some color critical external monitoring options and generally ease your HDV pain.

Thanks, I’m desperate to press ‘proceed to checkout’ with all my shiny new kit. I have added the Matrox, can you suggest a good Monitor on the cheaper side, and portable?

I have heard good things about FCP and not many bad things, is their anything I should be aware of?

The most important thing is understanding the FCP worflow (that it’s not like Avid’s modal system). Are you able to try it or (even better) get a tutorial first, to see if you like the way it works?
