  Live Action Explosion – Best way to Tackle it?

  I have the task of making a man on a city block explode(A bomb is strapped to his chest). Just wondering if you guys have any advice on the best way to tackle this. Do you think it would be wise to try and do some miniatures, or perhaps shooting an explosion against a sky background and keying it in.

  I didn’t want to make the explosion entirely with particles because it tends to look a little too CG.

  Looks like they have every explosion from my favorite cheesy 80’s Tv shows and movies. Go MacGyver intro!!
