Third time I have posted – same problem, but each post comes at it from a different angle.

Can one refresh a subclip ? The manual indicates that you cannot recapture. Whether it is reconnecting or recapturing, the behavior indicated below, is the same, I have found.

So I try exporting the subclip or media managing it. Each only ends up with the one audio track originally in the subclip, though the audio from the original master clip has 4 tracks.

The problem is I started with FCP 4.5 and Varicam footage (720/23.98p)- FCP 4.5 only recognized one audio track though 4 were there. We upgraded to FCP 5 in the middle of the project (I know, not my choice), and now FCP5 sees the 4 audio tracks, but the subclips I made in FCP4.5 (and with which I have done the majority of the edits) only have 1 audio track. I cannot figure out a way to get these subclips to recognize the 4 audio tracks that are there.

    I definitely need some help.

    Thanks

    Michael

    “Recapturing Subclips
Subclips refer to portions of media files by using virtual subclip limits. When you tell Final Cut Pro to capture a subclip, the subclip limits are ignored, and the entire duration of the original media file is captured. “
