    Hi.

I’m sorry for asking but by searching through the community I couldn’t find my answer.

Our problem is that we are several editors working on the same G5. All our projects are based on lacie external drives, and setting the scratch disc usually comes up when we mount a new disc. BUT. Some times we want to attach several discs to be working on more projects at the same time. exporting, compressing, etc.
When we do, the previous scratch disc is still there, and is now the scratch disc for the other projects as well.

I know lots of us are hoping that scratch disc settings beeing linked with projects, but until then…

Is there a way for fcp to ALLWAYS ask for setting scratch disc when opening FCP or a project?

Since it asks if there is a DVCAM recorder, camera or any other output device connected, and this is an option you can turn on and off. I was kinda hoping it could do the same on scratch disc.

    thanks!

unfortunately not i’m afraid… its a total pain in the ass I know… It only asks for scratch disks if the precious destination directory isn’t there anymore, ie. ext’ firewire drives….
