  • Stopping on specific frame using Twixtor or Timewarp

    Hi,

Need some help ASAP with what is most likely obvious but can seem to figure it out. New to Twixtor and messing with time, and have the following situation:

I have some footage (25fps targa sequence) and at certain timecodes, I need to slowly ease from 100% speed to 0% speed and stop on a specific frame. Now I have done the first part successfully. All is good, HOWEVER, the frame I need to stop on is no longer, and it is stopping on a frame maybe .5 sec before or whatever. I understand it is blending frames, and interpolating to create new frames. But I just simply want to slowdown and still keep that last frame. Whether I use Twixtor or AE 7’s built in timewarp, I get the same result.

I am adjusting the time by speed, as the frame method wasn’t working for me. Anyone have any pointers they can share regarding this?

    Cheers in advance!

You need to create a quantized keyframe before the last one. You need to correlate your frame rate and percentages to the fields to coincide with the right point in time. Simply manually calculate a value (100 x target frame / framerate). Make sure interpolation between those keyframes is set to linear.
