  How to mask a 3d layer?

  I have a layer which has Zaxwerks 3d flag applied to it. When I add a mask for the layer it doesn`t do anything. I need to mask the 3d version of it, how could I go about doing that?

  precompose and then add a mask or,
  create a new solid add your mask to it. place it above the 3d layer and change the track matte of the 3d layer to alpha matte.
