  • OMF export with Timecode Information.

We received an OMF from an outside client – who cut a feature in FCP. We are now setting up to do audio in Pro Tools. The OMF opens fine – however the “source” timecode does no exist? We are matching the TC to the Broadcast Wav files for final mix – but this is rather difficult without the TC from the source material. I know AVID translates this information because we have done numerous projects and or test today.

Does anyone know how to send an OMF with this information “source timecode” etc?

    Thanks a mill.

The source timecode should be there. Get them to re-export it.
Tell them to make sure everything has a reel number, otherwise it may be regarded as a non-timecode source (like a graphics file).

An EDL from the FCP will give you the source timecode info as well
