Hello, I have a new Macbook (not Pro) with only one firewire port. I’d like to connect an external hard drive to the firewire port on my macbook and then connect a camera via firewire to the external drive. If I do this, will I be able to use FCP 5 to capture video from the camera and save it directly to the external hard drive? If not, what is another option for me? Thanks!!

Seems to work better than on older Apple laptops now. But if you experience problems, use the internal disk. Other than in the iBook, it’s pretty easy to swap the internal drive for a faster and bigger model.

    Regards,
