I impored a quicktime with motion jpg a compression into a sequence, with matching compression and pixel info, added some sound and then re-export it with exactly the same settings. The color on the new one was awful compared to the original. Tried exporting it again, but uncompressed, still awful. Ended up adding the audio and doing the export from after effects and it turned out fine. Is there a setting somewhere in my final cut that is messing up the color quality of my exports?

    Hi,

Try selecting your sequence/timeline in the browser window and from the pop down menu choose settings, change that to the same as the mpg codec you have used. Now try exporting it again. What I’m thinking is that the sequence might be set to something like DV pal/ntsc.

    Hope this sorts the problem.
