  moving clip from V2 to V1 forces re-render?

  Using FCP 5.04 – I have a clip on V1 totally covered by a clip on V2

  I apply a filter to the clip on V2 and render it. If I then go and delete the clip on V1 or move the clip from V2 down to V1 the clip from V2 requires rerendering….???

  It does not happen all the time and only seems to happen with 3rd party filters…Anyone seen this behavior?

  happens all the time. There is opacity information on each clip in the timeline, so I think it always considers what is above and below each clip.

  it doesn’t happen all the time – I did check opacity was at 100% and composite mode was normal.
