  Sony M25U deck shuttling

  Ok, posted this in the Sony DV and HDV format….dead air. On the M25U deck I can shuttle a DVCAM tape while logging, but not an HDV deck….screen goes black. Tried different menu settings. No change.

  Also, having major problems getting firewire to stay connected in an AVID Xpress pro 5.6.4 system. Bails out before the end of a capture and says video was lost.

  This is not a pleasant experience with the M25U deck so far. There are a couple similar posts on the Avid forusm as well about this deck.

  Should have waited for the 1500 HDV deck I suppose, but am I the only one who thinks this deck looked cool but is a boat anchor?

  Seems to be a thing with Sony… But what do you expect from a deck that cost around $2500. Until a true broadcast deck comes available, you’ll just have to wade through.
