Upgraded to FCP 5.1 and Tiger 10.4, FCP won’t open/crashes

Did you actually Upgrade to Tiger or did you erase your Mac Hard drive and do a clean install of Tiger and then all of your applications? When changing from one OS to another, like Panther to Tiger, it is always recommended to wipe your hard drive clean and do a fresh install of everything.

The latest version of FCP (5.1.2) will crash on startup if you have third party Quicktime codecs installed (Avid, Media 100), or a Zaxwerks flag filter.
(Doesn’t happen on all systems, but have been reported by many people…including ME!).

Did not erase the HD, just updated Tiger and then FCP 5.1. Wasn’t a Motion issue. Did update Application Support apps. Still no luck.
