Automated way to convert formats on multiple files?
Greetings Oh Great Ones, I bow to your knowledge…
What is the best workflow to convert multiple files quickly and painlessly rather than babysitting each one. Here’s the problem:
I have a huge project ahead: Fight scenes shot with 3 cameras. A camera was an SDX-900P, and B & C cameras were HDX-200’s. The files are already sitting on the RAID, but I noticed that even though the P2 files are listed as DVCPRO50 files, FCP still thinks they need renderiing to be seen in the timeline (regardless of the settings on DVCPRO50 in the timeline. Arghh!!). The A-camera footgae was brought in at 10bit uncompressed (Black Magic codec). Assuming I choose either 10bit uncompressed or DVCPRO50 (and it shouldn’t matter) what is the best method, workflow, plug-in, or program to comvert these files to the same codec in one large pass. I am hoping not to have to import, render, export, and then re-import over a hundered clips totaling several terabytes. Any suggestions about how to speed this process along?
