  project files and the sizes of these files

  I’m working on a large documentary. I’ve got over 300 master clips, from about 40 hours of footage. Over half of the files are on-line, the other half are off-line(un-captured). I’ve also got about 10 different sequences. The size of the project file is about 120 MB. I don’t really care how big it gets until it interups my workflow. Whenever I save, which I do often, or FCP autosaves, it takes about 10-20 seconds.

  Not a super big deal, but was wondering if anyone know what factors make the file size big. Which is the reason, I am assuming, it takes so long to save the file.
