    Hi FCP forum

I have tagged a project with all of the places that need mattes, effects etc with chapter markers and exported the sequence with the markers intact. But the file is 5GB and I want to compress to send to the effects house with the markers in place so we can discuss them. Is there a way to compress the file and still get the markers to show up? Or is there a way to export the file to an excel spreadsheet so we can look at the label and time?

    thanks

You have probably noted that unlike Export as Quicktime Movie, exporting with Quicktime Conversion does not allow chapters. here is a workaround.

    Duplicate the sequence.
Change the sequence settings of the duplicate to a compressed codec, such as Photo JPEG.
Export as Quicktime Movie (not Quicktime Conversion). This will take a while as it has to render.

Thanks John – I’ll try this. I was able to export an xml sequence and open the file in excel. It had the chapter markers etc in the cells with it but not the timecode of the sequence. But I will try this other avenue as well. Thanks for the response.
