I’m getting pixelation on an animated logo using an H.264 800kbps export. I do not get the pixelation when I export straight H.264 and view full size. Is there a way to clean up the pixelated logo in the following link? Please see the opening animated logo on this edit:

The logo is vectored in Illustrator, animated in After Effects using imported objects from LiveType.

The only limitation: The web service I have, 1and1, allows for a maximum of 10MB file sizes to be uploaded when using their templates. I prefer to use the template, rather than Dreamweaver, as I can work on the web site from anywhere and changes are easier and faster.

    Thanks in advance,
    Eric

    Eric,

Don’t know exactly what’s causing your problem, but it looks to me like field issues, not pixelation. It appears as if your animation was created with two fields per frame, but somehow playing back single field. What settings did you use for output in AE?

Even more important, you need to crush the blacks on your video using the three way color corrector. Your video looks milky and washed-out now because your blacks aren’t set properly. Blacks in DV should be at zero. If you crush the blacks you’ll be amazed at how much more your colors will pop.

    David,

I’ll look into the fields. I’m not sure what the settings were in After Effects other than default. Any place I can go to get a tutorial on crushing the blacks?

    Thanks,
    Eric

    Eric,

Check out the tutorial below from Larry Jordan. The part about pulling the blacks down to zero is exactly what you need to know. https://www.larryjordan.biz/articles/lj_color.html

    Good luck,
