    Hi All

I want to use Media Manager to make a backup copy of the media for my audio mix so I can archive it for easy, editable later use. I’m hoping for the equivalent to consolidating an audio only version in Avid.

So far no dice – FCP seems to be trying to include video from somewhere into the copying process and want 17Gb for the audio for a 15min sequence!

I made an audio only copy of my sequence
I copied it into a new project
    I ‘Make Sequence Clips Independent’ed
I went in to media manage without affiliate clips, and discarding un-used media.

BUT its still shows the self same 17Gb of media.

Will media manager work on an audio only sequence?

I’d surely appreciate you’re thoughts on the matter.

    Thanks in advance

    Jim

It seems to me that this would be a case for exporting an OMF from FCP rather than using the Media Manager.

    Thanks for your reply David.

OMF doesn’t really do the job because it wont import back into FCP.

What I’m really after is a backup technique – I used to do this all the time on Avid and keep a library of media for every mix I finished for reversioning purposes.

Can you suggest anywhere I could go in Apple to get a definitive answer?

    Jim
