Can anybody help me with how to make that “sparkling shine” [ting!] on my subjects teeth, using only FCP Studio? I have Adobe Photoshop, but not After Effects.

I’m talking about that glint of light that looks like a star filter, real small on someone’s tooth.
You see it on the Orbit Gum commercial with that blonde girl who says “Fabulous” after someones got fresh breath (even though they are filthy with dirt or whatever). Her name is Vannessa Branch, do a search on Orbit Gum and Vanessa Branch if you don’t know what I mean.
    Or just watch this commercial:

    Thanks a million!

    Very easy and low-tech.

Draw a white star shape in Photoshop.

Position, size and key it over the image in FCP using the Motion tabs.

Make the star in photoshop and scale it in FCP. Add your favorite sound effect. Check soundtrack pro and see if they have a “ding”.

    maybe try livetype>objects>particles>pop2
scale to spot and find a sound effect

Soundtrack does have a “ding” sound effect. It’s a typewriter (remember those?) return sound. I just used it last week for a spot.
