  • Creating a mask using greenscreen footage…is it possible?

Posted by Gnwanya on December 5, 2006 at 10:09 am

    Hi guys

i want to create tvlines effect on some greenscreen footage i have, but i dont want the effect to be applied onto the background. I have been toying around with masks, but i know is not the correct approach. Is there a way to use greenscreen footage (or any footage for that matter) as a mask in FCP?

    Thanks
    Gus

Apply the key, then apply the mask. If you do the reverse, it’ll mess up the key.

Huh? This is basic Video Editing 101 fare. Much more time consuming to go to another app for a basic matte and filter.

Hi guys thanks for the response. I know i can achieve this in after effects, but my problem is i have to do alot of heavy editing, and i dont own automatic duck to transkfer my edits across, so thats why i mentioned approaching the task in FCP.

Nonetheless thank you again for the feedback. Its really appreciated.
