I’m having a weird problem that just popped up today and I can’t seem to fix it. When I play a clip in my Viewer window I get very jerk, video – frames skip – it’s really weird. But if I drop a clip into the timeline and play it in the Canvas it plays fine. I thought perhaps I was having problems with the drive, but it happens no matter what drive I’m using for source material. Anyone have any ideas on this?

    Oh – I’m using FCP 4.5 on a G5 with OS 10.3.9

Something else odd that I just noticed is that all the video clips I open in the viewer seem to be offset just a fraction. In other words it’s as if I grabbed the frame and moved it over a vew pixels – I can see the checkerboard background behind an edge of the frame. Of course I haven’t done that but perhaps that’s the problem I also get a flickering arrow when I try to play the clips – as if it’s rendering or something as it plays.

Well, I seem to have found the problem, only I’m still not sure what caused it. In all my projects in the Viewer window under the Motion tab – the center coordinates have been shifted. Once I set them both back to 0 the clips play fine. Now my question is why are they shifted in the first place?
