I have never used this before, can’t get it to work. I have a horizon layer and a moon layer behind it with a glow applied to the moon. I want the light from the moon to spill over the horizon in a realistic way. Any help out there?

Dunno the effect, but most likely you simply need to pre-compose your horizon. Then apply the effect to the precomp, using the moon as the source for the glow.
