  Exporting Problems

  I have a 7 minute short film and when i try to export it, it only comes out to like 300mb. But i have a full 4.7gb dvd to fill and want to take advantage of that and export as high as quality as possible. I try using compresser and there are SO many different settings and none of them have done what i want so far (either to short or WAY more then 4.7gigs). I have also tried to export it in HD even though it was captured SD, just so I could get a higher resolution, but the 16:9 addition to that, throws my dimensions off. Last, I’ve used DVD studio pro and tried MANY different setting combinations and my film always only takes up about 150mb on the dvd no matter how big the original file format is. PLEASE all i want to do is export and burn my film at the highest setting possible. HELP!

  DVDs really only accept onre format, MPEG-2. And of course your 7 min movie will not fill up a DVD intended for 2 hours. Try to squeak our more quality, then most if not all DVD players will not be able to play it.

  Just use the HIGH QUALITY presets for DVD in Compressor. That is the best quality you can get.

  Shane is right on the money, most problems with DVDs come from bitrates that are set too high rather than too low. Pumping up the bitrate to anything over 7.0 Mbps does very little to improve quality, but it can easliy maximise potential playback issues.
