  FireWire device Missing in FCP

  I just upgrade to OZ 10.4.8 from 10.3.9
  Also upgrade FCP to 5.1.2, and added Sony XDCAM transfer software.
  Now, when I try to use my firewire drive, FCP can not find it. It I go into log and capture it will shuttle the deck, but
  it still says it is missing, and no video or audio comes through.
  Just to test, I opened iMovie, and the deck works fine, and I can grab footage through that.
  Anyone have any ideas. I have thrown out preferences, and still no luck.
