  memory usage issue

  Having a strange issue with setting my memory usage on my system – Have a Macpro with 4 gigs of ram, but the ‘memory usage’ setting is only showing 2.5 gigs available to take.. is this normal? Am I missing a math issue? I can’t believe the OS and other are taking up 1.5 gig of ram… Could it be a faulty ram issue?

  And while in this topic, any tips on settings ifor memory & cache in general?
