  HDV into FCP without Universal

  Client has bought this new JVC HDV camera (HD100?) and is chomping at the bit to edit. I am at FCP 5.0 and sent in the disks for the universal cross-grade last week and have not seen them back yet. Can I digitize the HDV material into FCP without this crossgrade or is it absolutely essential. I have the darn Kona LH for monitoring and everything else…except the software! Thanks in advance.

  Should work just fine, unless its 24p video.
  That you’ll have to capture analog (60p) if you don’t have fcp 5.1.2
