I have a seen made up of 7 precomps. Each precomp has some 3d effects and the main comp has those 7 pre-comps distributed in AE 3d space.

I’m having issues in that some pre-comps, while placed further back in z-space are showing on top of closer items. No matter how I move them, remove them etc. I’ve verified that all pre-comps have the 3d switch on etc.

Has anyone seen this before or have ideas on how to fix it?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Are you sure the dimensions of the comps are comparable? If you have pre-comp that occupies more space than the main comp provides, layers may still overlap.

Yes. They were the same. It’s as if one layer was in 2D, but it wasn’t. The other odd thing was when I used my custom views, only 2 of the 7 layers would refresh. I ended up combine some of the nested precomps and that seemed to work. Still not sure what the issue was though.

    Indeed, sounds strange.
