Posted by Naveen Ns on January 1, 2007 at 7:24 am

    I made a 30sec movie in Pal720x576 DVD resolution.
now my client asked me for anamorphic 2.35:1 render for projecting it in thearter.

can any one help me how to convert 720×576 DVD to anamoephic 2.35:1?

you can mail me your comment to my mail id : ns.naveen@gmail.com

    thanks in advance.

I can tell you it will look like arse when you’re done with it. Because you will have to crop your 4:3 image way down to a 2.35:1 image, then stretch that back up vertically for the anamorphic squeeze effect. Then take what little pixels you had left over and make it as big as a movie screen will look very low res I would imagine.

Maybe you could convince the client to project 16×9 … then it would look less, er, arse. 🙂

I uprezzed NTSC 4:3 SD to PAL 16:9 SD using ReSizer2, and at least in the test theatre, it looked no worse than a lot of other spots I’ve seen.

Pearl and Dean gave us the tech specs, by the way.

Oh, yes. Re-doing at the proper size would look better.
