I am new to the Mac and Final Cut Pro, just switched over from the trusty PC and adobe. I am having a very hard time importing Mini DVD’s onto the Mac. I tried to bring the file in using iMovie and FCP but only a couple seconds of the full movie end up being imported in?!? I’ve read that you can’t use the firewire cable to import them either (is this true)? I figured out how to import the DVD’s on my PC by selecting the individual files (w/o the menu file) using Nero but I cannot figure out on the Mac. Anyway, I would REALLY appreciate some help and keep in mind when you are answering that I am a bit of a novice still. Thanks in advance!

Get MPEG Streamclip a free application that imports the VOB files from DVD’s and allows you to save them in just about any Quicktime CODEC on your computer. https://www.squared5.com/

I’m getting more and more of these comming in (mini dvd’s) and often they are not finalized and will not show up on the desk top or in my sony dvd rw burner. I found an app for windows called cdroller (www.cdroller.com) and looks really great for working with this media. Does anyone know of a similar product for mac? I have mac the ripper, streamclip and burnz but they are useless if the disc won’t even load on the desk top or play in a dvd player. My sony rw burner will recognize some of these if they are not finalized but I’ve run into several that I can’t do anything with.
