DAT TAPE TO FCP
Can someone let me know what equipment I need to digitize from a DAT tape into FCP. I would like to retain the timecode from the DAT.

Depends on which DAT playback deck you have.
A capture card or box like an AJA io with serial control for the DAT deck and various inputs for the audio would work.

Describe your DAT machine and a little about your FCP system and maybe we can give you a more detailed answer. Capture devices like the AJA line have RS-422 control which will bring in the time code with the audio. Certain methods of dubbing the DAT to other formats might work, too.
