I created a superbar in after effects with a transparent background, rendered out using animation codec with millions + as a quicktime.

when i look at it in final Cut pro 5 it has the alpha in the viewer but when i drop it onto the timeline over a piece of footage is has no transparency, just black

    please help

In the view popup in the canvas did you switch to viewing the alpha channel? What happens when you do that? If the screen is all white FCP is not recognizing the alpha channel. You might try going to item properties and see if it’s set for straight or black.

    All the best,

    Tom
