  Final Cut not seeing Sony GV-D1000 Deck

  I’m running FCP 5.0.4 on OS 10.4.8 w/QT 7.1.3

  And the problem is that FCP doesn’t recognize the deck (or my VX2100 either). System profiler shows they’re connected. iMovie sees them.

  Wierdly enough, FCP provides device control when I initate Log and Capture (even though it says that no device is connected). But it won’t capture anything and preview is disabled.

  I deleted my FCP prefs, threw away the QT receipts. Repaired disk premissions. Restarted with deck on/off and tried some variations of which Firewire input (front, back, monitor).

  And now I’m at a total loss. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated…….

  Reinstall QuickTime… here’s an article on the procedure:
