  • Batch Capture twice (or more)

I have seen this problem before, on my system quite some time (several versions) ago and on another system, and now it’s back.
The problem is, when I Batch Capture one or several clips, I get the window telling the reel(s) used with Contine/Cancel as normal.
    When I select Continue, the system captures the clip(s) then repeats the previous window, as if I’ve just asked it to batch capture;
If I hit continue, it repeats the capture process, again.
If I hit Cancel, the capture process stops, and my clips appear as online, and away I can go.

This recent occurence seems to have come on only with the update to FCP 5.1.2

    Any clues …?

    Dual 2.5 Ghz PowerPC G5
    3.5 GB SDRAM
    OS 10.4.8
    FCP 5.1.2
    BlackMagic Decklink 5.6.2

You are not alone. I am having the same problem, but with FCP 5.04, capturing from a CanonXL2, with a Powerbook G4 OX10.4.7, QT 7.1.3, to an exernal G-Raid (raid 0) firewire 800. The camera is hooked up to a firewire PCI card, while the drive is on the internal firewire buss. I am also experiencing occasional audio stuttering. This only happens on playback of the captured clip, and is not on the original miniDV.

    Keith,
    a development …
Normally, I capture from decks using serial comtrol and SDI input. And that’s where I see the problem we’ve mentioned.
    I have a Blackmagic card.
Interestingly, today, in a rare exercise, I am Batch Capturing some DV footage directly off a camera and NOT having the same issue.
I’ll investigate the differences later and report back.
Initially, looking at today’s difference, I thought maybe the problem was the Blackmagic VTR drivers, but that wouldn’t explain your problem.

    more later …
