    CatDV is an expensive solution and it really bugs me that you can’t drag a clip from
    the search window straight into FCP without losing the in/out of that particular piece of logged media

    You could always try entering the info into a spreadsheet such as Excel
    if it is the clips you want to log. Take a look at the “Working with batch list”
    part of the FCP user manual. (Page 301?)

    I’m working on making a generic Filemaker Pro template that uses XML too.
