  Does anyone know a good filter for film getting stuck in a projector and burning out?

  They use a similar effect in terms of the film shutter slowing in “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”. I’m trying to get it to look like the flim slows (so you can see the frames) and then burns out.

  Boris Continuum Complete has a Film Burn filter that work very well.

  you can easily do the slowdown/ flicker effect using the push slide transition. slow your footage down and cut in push sldies from the bottom adjust the timing inbetween the transitions for the desired effect.

  follow the tutorial below to add in a more believable look.

  it may take soem nesting and finessing to get it but this should send you on the right track.
