I have a setup for digitizing DAT sound via PCM 7030 through BM Decklink HD Extreme. The output from the PCM is output by digital output to the AES/EBU in of the Blackmagic card. It works (I can capture sound only) when I have the Sony SRW-1(HDcamSR recorder) turned on and connected to the SDI in of the Blackmagic, and using the capture preset of Blackmagic HDTV 1080p 23.98 10 bit. But it doesn’t seem to work when I turn off the Sony SRW-1 and try with the same capture preset or change it to other presets. Anyone had this problem before?, if somebody knows how to capture DAT sound without video (not needing the Sony SRW-1) please give me some suggestions. Thanks!

The SRW1 is working as a digital audio embedder, enabling your Blackmagic card to receive embedded audio down the SDI video cable. If you turn it off,it will no longer be performing this process.Your Blackmagic breakout cable also has connections for balanced analogue audio inputs or AES/S-PDIF digital audio inputs.A third-party card might also substitute for the SRW1.
