  Importing files from P2 to FCP

  I have FCP 5.1 and am trying to import P2 files for the first time, which are currently on an external hard drive. When I get to the “Import Panasonic P2” window, it asks for a reel name and volumes/path. To select the volumes/path I click on a P2 file and I get the message, “selected path does not contain a P2 volume.” What am I missing?

  FCP is looking for a physical volume (aka the P2card)

  the folder on your drive that holds the P2 material needs to have BOTH the LAST CLIP.txt and the CONTENTS folders

  How do I do provide the P2 folders on my hard drive with the two folders you listed? I’ve downloaded the driver from Shane’s tutorial on importing from P2 to FCP, but am still not clear on how to fix my folders so they’re readable.
