  artifacts on m2v encode from fcp

  i’m experiencing strange things when encoding from either compressor or dvdsp using a sequence in fcp or a exported file from fcp. if i encode the entire 65 minute programme, there are artifacts in my final m2v file. but if i encode 20 seconds of the material from where it looks the worst, then it looks fine in a small file (20 seconds) – with the exact same settings…!? i use 2 pass vbr – any ideas to what goes wrong?
