3D moves on Still Graphics & 3D text
I have been doing searches in this forum but haven’t had much like luck trying to find out what app I should be looking for.
I would like to be able to do smooth, 3D moves on still images. For example, a long shot of a detailed map. Then the camera moves in to an extreme close up and rotates so you can read small text on the map. Maybe then drawing a circle around the text.
Also, I would like to be able to do moves on 3D text.
What are my options?
I’ve read some posts on the Shake & Combustion forums. It sounds like Combustion or AE is what I need.Can I do these moves in Shake? At $499 it looks affordable. I’m a small production house and the $500 difference is pretty substantial. I understand that people have all three of these apps and use the best features of each.
But I’d like to try and increase my 3D capabilities as cost effectively as possible.

After Effects, RED, Combustion or Cinema 4D. RED plugs into FCP so that’s easiest.

All the programs listed above are the best workflow fro what you want. Although it cannot do true 3D, Motion can do some incredible things.

It doesn’t have cameras either. The other apps do. That being said, I could probably fake it in either FCP or Motion. 😉
