  Exporting a QT with the original TC

  Hello

  So my problem is that I need to export a clip with an effect to a new quick time, but I will need to online it later. If I make new quicktimes they won’t have the TC or log info for me to online is there a way to export that info when you make new quicktimes? If I can’t, can I enter in that information manually in FCP?

  What effect? Tell more about what you are trying to do. I can think of a few things, but i want to make sure I’m headed down the right path.

  Hi Em.
  When you export from FC, the files have a TC channel. I guess that your time-line start with;
  1: 00:00:00. So !hour, o minutes , 0 seconds, 0 frames. When you export your film will start with this TC. This is the factory set, but you can change it in the preferences, and set the TC that you want.
  To get that you new file keep the TC of the footage, just take the TC of the first frame you want to export, and set that value in the prefernces. Your exported file will start with the new TC.
  If what you want is to print to video, the things change. I can export to DVCam setting the TC that I want, but when i try to export as MiniDV, the desk it doesn’t take it (thanks SONY).
